Kael of Ashford in The Barnacled Reliquary

The tale

Kael of Ashford descended into the Barnacled Reliquary. On floor 1 he defeated 4 brinelings and sprang a trap that dealt 5 damage. He spotted the next trap and met a wandering pack that carried the belongings of a fallen warrior. He solved the rune door and faced a shoalspear whose heavy blow he blocked before striking back. He descended to floor 2, where a trap inflicted 10 damage. He failed to open the rune door but soon solved the altar by setting the great dial to the evening star, opening a sluice gate that drained a direct path to the stairs. He met another brinelings pack, spotted a trap, and fought the Cistern Keeper, blocking two heavy blows and countering each time until the keeper fell. He claimed the Signet of the Drowned Abbot and descended to floor 3, where he met a fallen warrior’s pack, sprang a trap for 16 damage, fought another brinelings pack, and spotted a trap. He reached floor 4, found another fallen pack, solved the altar by aligning the tide dials to moon, ebb and flood to drain another passage, and solved the rune door. After another brinelings pack he blocked a heavy blow from the Undertow Captain, who still struck his guard, yet he defeated the captain and claimed the Crown of Slow Coral. He turned back after 32 minutes with 802 XP.
