Kael of Ashford in The Mirrored Cistern

The tale

Kael of Ashford descended into the Mirrored Cistern. On floor 1 he spotted a trap with a 56 percent chance. He slew his first foes, 3 brinelings, and found a secret wall. A wall of brown water burst from a cracked drain and swept down the corridor. He spotted two more traps on the same floor. A sodden pack hung from a broken railing, left by a warrior who went no further. When a shoalspear wound up a heavy blow, his guard held and he punished the opening. He descended to floor 2, spotted another 56 percent trap, then faced the Cistern Keeper. The Keeper’s blow broke his guard, but Kael of Ashford slew the Cistern Keeper and took the Verdigris Censer. He descended to floor 3 where brinelings poured from a flooded drain. He spotted two more 56 percent traps and one unmarked trap, then a sprung trap struck for 16 damage. Against an anchorbearer his guard held and he punished the opening, slaying the elite. On floor 4 he solved the altar by walking the moon dial from dark to full, opening a sluice gate that drained a passage toward the stairs. The rune door stayed shut. The Reef Admiral’s heavy blow met a held guard, yet Kael of Ashford slew the Admiral and claimed the String of Moon Pearls. After 27 minutes he turned back on floor 4, carrying 715 XP.
